VLOG GRAND SIRENIS PUNTA CANA

The food was fabulous and the staff was friendly, I would definitely go back to this resort again. The mini bar was stocked everyday with coke, sprite and water; we did manage to get a few bottles of beer left for us after tipping our maid extra. Reception staff - their knowledge of English is so poor you can't get your point across very easily. On the last day I asked if they could extend our check out by one hour. I would also recommend the tour to Saona Island, the excursion is a full day, the bus picks you up at am and you take a bus for about and a 1. I preferred ours. Rooms - Again this didn't bother me in the slightest because I spent very little time in the room itself but it might be a problem for some - the curtains wouldn't shut properly, the bath coating was coming off and the tv had a poor selection of channels. Some of the staff have great personalities and although the Island's main language is Spanish the animation team can all speak good English and the catering staff understood basic English and helped us speak Spanish to them which I thought was friendly.

This was our first trip south, we did not know what to expect, but the resort was an absolute paradise. If you have already booked, take your own cups, because, you won't find one larger than 6ozs. My wife ordered enchiladas at the mexican rest. This was a very stressful end to my stay.

We had an amazing time, great relaxation and met some great friends. At least they tasted good. Near the end of our holiday we also got a smell of sewage in our room which was coming in through the air-conditioning but once the problem was reported to reception the maintenance staff dealt with it pronto.

One thing I was looking forward to was looking at some of the stars from the beach but every night it clouded over and I couldnt see anything.

Water sports were not easily accessable and you had to buy "Insurance every day. They also have icecream machines. The entertainment team is generally based on the Cocotal side of the pool so if you want it a bit quieter go to the Suites side. There is also the beach BBQ for lunch which had the best chicken ever and there is also the steak house or Mexican which also does a buffet lunch and snacks.

A11travel - rubbish travel agents - provided no rep service for me at all. The Cocotal side of the complex as far I know does not have coffee facilities in the room, only the Tropical Suites side and I found our room to be clean but a little bit tired.

We had dinner at the Jade - it was good, though I'm not sure why people rave about this place. We booked through Apple, the welcome reception, orientation and "Apple Dinner" were are cancelled without any notice.

There is a hut on the beach with delicious BBQ food. In the morning I loved the grand sirenis cocotal beach resort punta cana fruit and my son was hooked on banana smoothies. No, but you're also not paying 5-star prices. You can not make a reservation until you have a room number and then it must be made before 9am, so don't expect to eat anywhere but the buffet on your first day.

Very different beach there, whiter sand, calmer waters but much busier beach. My mate took a ride on the quads through a forest and he said that the guards had machine guns! Apart from the buffet there are 7 different restaurants - Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Steak House, Sea food, vegitarian and one other that you had to pay for.

We had a great time. It was sunny everyday and the few times it did rain it bucketed it down but only for 15minutes. Do yourself a favor and stay at Dreams. The Hotel is lovely, I can't really think of many things it could do better.

I left it to the last minute to get back to my room and have a quick shower but the key did not work. The evening shows and kids activities were good. It was all but impossible grand sirenis cocotal beach resort punta cana get resevrations in the half empty restaurants.

Gently shelving grand sirenis cocotal beach resort punta cana for toddlers, shallow bits, deep bits, more rowdy with pool games one end, quiet the other. Good points: Entertainment staff - they are fantastic and there is plenty to do if you were bored - whilst there I tried beach aerobics, merengue lesson, beach games, archery, kayaking, sailing and snorkelling and won three small bottles of rum.

I rushed back to reception who re-programmed it again but it still did not work so I had to grab a maid to open my room for me. They stop the boat half way there in a natural pool to enjoy some great Dominican rum.

The food at the buffets was fine - it actually seemed to improve as the week went by. I grand sirenis cocotal beach resort punta cana this Hotel would suit anyone and I would recommend it to my grandparents aswell as the 'boys' back home as you can mould this resort into whatever you want grand sirenis cocotal beach resort punta cana to be!

We saw people bathing in muddy rivers and washing their clothes and this is in complete contrast to the Hotel. No guidence was given on check out or anything for that matter. Definitely a must do… More. All the staff in the hotel blackjack against computer so friendly from the gardeners upwards and we never heard anyone say otherwise.

The drive to the airport is about an hour and the journey is a bit of a bumpy ride to say the least as the roads are horrendous! Pool - it's enormous and winds around for about metres. The country is very poor and the people houses are little more than wooden huts.

The only place I could pick up a free signal was on the way home at the airport under the VIP lounge! Have a good holiday, PS the meat carver is a laugh as well doing the moonwalk across the restaurant with a meat clever in his hand!!! I took a day trip to Bavaro to swim with dolphins or rather stroke the dolphins as it turned out.

Whatever we asked for, the staff was "sorry" but they couldn't help. Evening entertainment is a bit of fun but don't expect west-end quality apart from the dance captain who is a fabulous dancer with a body to go with it!!! The Hotel is remote and dont be confused The walk along the beach was ruined by traders trying to grab you into their shops.

We used the main buffet area a lot and was never disappointed with the choice, make sure you book the other restaurants through reception the morning after you arrive as they fill up quickly.

Another tip would be to get trips from the people down by the pool as they are a lot cheaper for exactly the same trip.

The reception is grand, marble floors with a tikki hut style roof made of palms.

We skipped dinner at the italian restaurant on the last night of our trip and went to the buffet instead, not because we heard the food was bad but because we liked the variety of the buffet. Charged me a service charge when they said there would be none.

Oh and the local aphrodisiac is a shot mamowana which is supposed to be honey and tree bark and is quite pleasant so that is worth a go. Go and have a good time. The beer that is on tap throughout is Presidente, which is light but refreshing. You get to choose two of these a week if it's busy but we managed 7 visits in 2 weeks japanese and mexican our favourites. Bottom line - is it a 5-star resort like the Ritz? He showed us a couple rooms before we chose the one closest to the beach. This didn't bother me at all however. I would love to come back and would recommend this to everyone. Most of the food, every where was terrible and the hours of service was limited unless you paid extra for room service. The gardens in the hotel are well maintained so have a walk around, the garden by the Chinese is worth a look and look out for the gardeners chopping down the coconuts! The only place worth eating was the Japenese Rest. I read some of the reviews before I went to was a bit dubious as to what it would be like, but gladly was proved wrong. Really, it's no different than Benihana or other similar chop-chop places in the US. The food was great and contary to what other people have said if you are hungry there is always something to eat in the day at the restaurant by the side of the main pool even if it is just burgers or nachos or cake. Bad points: Location - if you are looking culture, shops etc. I can't fault the food at all and the waiters fill your glass up immediately in the restaurants and bar staff are good fun. Overall would be go back, yes definitely. Beach vendors - got a bit annoying but just be firm. Plenty of bars and they make many different cocktails. We arrived at the resort around am, the hotel staff was great, we were originally booked to stay on the tropical side, but when we spoke to the concierge he gave us a free upgrade to VIP and placed us on the Cocotal side. Only one type of beer "Pesidential" and top shelf liquor is all local brands. Location - the beach is lovely and you can walk for a mile in each direction without coming across another resort. If booking through the Thomas Cook website go through a cashback website and get up to 3. The night entertainment I didnt really rate, however I don't really like that sort of thing anyway. Saona Island was great but you have to let your hair down and get on the rum and coke, it really is a paradise island and was the highlight of our trip. The entertainment team and kids club girls are all really lovely people. The pool entertainment team were so funny and you should definately catch the 'Miss Sirenis' competition it was so funny and the team do a great job especially Spaghetti. We felt very safe in this hotel and saw guards cycling around the complex with guns and spotlights. The seafood and mexican restaurants were no good. The animation team works very hard to organize activities throughout the day. There are no windows or walls to outside just the hot breeze blowing in its lovely to sit and have a drink. We were not the only ones that felt the resort was sub-par, every American we spoke with was disapointed. The weather was great, only rained about 1hr on one the days we were there. They said yes but I had to get my key re-programmed, which I did. We had a nice time, but, got a very poor value for the price we paid. Food - The buffet was great - something for everyone.
